Refund Policy
Last updated 12 September 2026
The short version: if a product is not for you, tell us within 7 days of your first payment and we will give you your money back. After that, you cancel rather than claim, and what you have already used is not returned. The rest of this page is the detail.
Refunds are paid by Paddle, our merchant of record. The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, and it is Paddle’s name you will see on the credit. You can ask us at hello@musketeers.io or ask Paddle directly — either works, and we will not send you back and forth.
1. The 7-day window
Buy something for the first time and decide it is not for you? Tell us within 7 days of that first payment and we will refund it in full. You do not have to give a reason.
This applies to your first purchase of a given product — the first month or first year of a subscription, or your first pack of credits. It is a chance to try the thing properly, and it is not meant to be used as free usage in a loop: if an account has already had a refund on a product, or has used a substantial part of what the purchase bought, we may decline or refund only the unused part. “Substantial” means what it sounds like, and we will tell you plainly which part we are declining and why.
2. Subscription renewals
A renewal is not a first purchase, and renewals are not refundable. The way to avoid paying for a period you do not want is to cancel before it renews — you can do that at any time, from your account or by email, and Paddle emails you a receipt for every charge including renewals, so a renewal is never the first you hear of it.
We do not refund part of a period you have already started and used. If you cancel halfway through a month, you keep access to the end of that month rather than getting half your money back.
3. Credits
Credits are prepaid usage, so the rule follows the usage:
- Unused credits from a purchase made in the last 7 days are refunded in full on request.
- Partly used packs within those 7 days are refunded for the unused balance, valued at what you paid per credit.
- Spent credits are not refundable. The work was done and the product was delivered; there is nothing to return. This is also why we do not refund credits consumed by your own mistake — a script left running, a loop that did not stop. Set limits on anything you automate.
- Expired credits are not refunded. Credits last 36 months from purchase; your balance and its expiry date are on your account.
If a bug of ours burned credits — the product charged you for work it did not do, or did twice — that is not a refund question, it is our error, and we put the credits back. Tell us and we will look at the ledger.
4. Cancelling
Cancel from your account, or email hello@musketeers.io and we will do it for you the same day we read it. There is no retention call, no form and no cancellation fee.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep what you have paid for until the end of the current period, and any credits on your account stay there until they are spent or they expire.
5. Always refunded
Outside any window, no argument, whenever these happen:
- you were charged twice for the same thing;
- you were charged after cancelling;
- somebody used your card without permission;
- you paid for something we then could not deliver;
- we retire a product you have paid in advance for — then we refund the unexpired part of the subscription and any unexpired unused credits, without you having to ask.
6. Not refunded
- credits you have spent, or that have expired;
- periods of a subscription you have already used;
- an account we have closed for breaking the terms of sale;
- a product that works as described but is not what you hoped — outside the 7-day window, that is what the window was for;
- bank or currency-conversion charges your own bank added;
- problems caused by something outside the product: your own code, your own network, or a third-party service you connected to it.
7. Your statutory right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content there is a wrinkle, and we would rather state it than hide it: by buying and getting immediate access, you ask us to start supplying straight away and you acknowledge that the statutory withdrawal right is lost once supply has begun. That is how the law works for digital content you can use the moment you have paid.
What that leaves you with. The 7-day policy at the top of this page is ours, given voluntarily, and it is what applies once supply has begun. It is shorter than the 14 days you would have had if you had not started using the product straight away — that is the trade you make for immediate access, and we would rather say so than bury it.
Where the law where you live gives you a right we cannot contract out of, that right wins over this policy, and we will honour it without argument. If you think that is your situation, say so and we will look at it rather than point you back at this page.
If you are a consumer in South Africa, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act apply and nothing here limits them. Consumers elsewhere keep whatever their own mandatory law gives them.
8. How to ask
Email hello@musketeers.io from the address you paid with, and tell us:
- which product it was;
- the order or transaction number from your Paddle receipt, if you have it to hand;
- roughly what happened — one line is enough, and you do not owe us a reason inside the 7 days.
We answer refund requests within 5 business days. Once approved, Paddle returns the money to your original payment method; how long it then takes to appear is your bank’s business, usually 5 to 10 business days.
If we turn a request down, we will tell you which part of this policy we are relying on and why. If you think we have got it wrong, say so — a second look costs us nothing and we would rather be right than stubborn.
9. Chargebacks
Please ask us before asking your bank. A chargeback takes weeks, costs us a fee whatever the outcome, and gets you your money slower than an email would have. We have never refused a refund that this policy covers.
While a chargeback is open we may suspend the account it relates to, because the payment for it is in dispute. Once it is settled we put things back as they were.
